Mitloedi, a town of just over 1,000 residents, feels like it is being gently hugged by the Glarus Alps. Only 45 minutes by train from Zurich, it is a world away in feeling and small-town hospitality. Or, take the train south and in 15 minutes you will be at the cog railway to the resort of Braunwald, for hiking through forests or skiing prepared slopes and deep Swiss powder snow.
Connected also by a canton-wide hiking and biking trail along the Linth River, you will find locals and guests outside all year long enjoying the absolutely breathtaking environment of natural beauty rich with colors, especially every shade of green imaginable.
