Summer Whitford, known as The Food and Wine Diva, is a chef and wine pro turned writer. She lives in Washington, DC and writes about all the tasty things to cook, eat, drink, do, and visit—around the corner and around the globe.

Summer is the author of Join Us At The Embassy, a culinary travelogue about the culture and foodways of ten countries, is the D.C. City Guide Editor for The Daily Meal, the DC Wine Examiner, was the Senior Writer for World Class Cuisine, an award-winning luxury travel and culinary television program that aired on the Discovery Channel. World Class Cuisine featured  Michelin star chefs and Relais & Châteaux hotels in five countries in Europe and was syndicated in 72 countries. Ms. Whitford was also the Contributing Editor for the companion book by the same name, and Kitchen Manager and Content Consultant for The Low Cholesterol Gourmet, which also aired on Discover Channel.

Summer Whitford is the founder of The Food and Wine Diva, a hospitality consulting firm that offers writing services, culinary education, and event/media consulting. When not freelancing or writing books, Summer and her husband Mark and their two cats, Thierry and Marinette, garden and decorate their 1928 brick row house. Santé!
