Online Shopping Service For Men Delivers Luxuriously

August 23rd, 2011

While the most direct way to capture the heart of a man may be through his stomach, giving most men the option to do all their clothes shopping over the internet instead of physically going shopping also has great potential. This just may be the ultimate service for the man who hates shopping but needs to dress like a thoroughbred clotheshorse. Hendricks Park Voutique is an online luxury clothing service for men of discerning tastes and little time for, or interest in, “live” shopping experiences. “Voutique,” the company’s trademarked phrase, is in reference to HPV being a virtual boutique.

The absence of the invaluable “personal touch” is gapped virtually through a one-on-one webcam session between a client and a personal consultant. At the conclusion of the meeting, the consultant puts together some clothes and ships those to the client. The customer keeps what he wants and returns the rest free of charge. It is very tidy, as there are no shipping costs incurred by clients either way.

“We recognized a major gap in the men’s apparel industry, where men with the means to buy nice clothing don’t always have the time or inclination to shop,” said Ms. Lisa Bruckner, founder and CEO of Hendricks Park. “We fill this gap by catering to men’s appreciation for high-end service while addressing their need for high-tech convenience. Hendricks Park is more than just another e-commerce site; it creates a personalized experience that makes dressing well easy and fun.”

The company launched the concierge-style online luxury clothing service for men in early 2010. According to Ms. Bruckner, a typical client spends about a $1,000 per season. While the innovative online service provider has brick-and-mortar offices in NYC and Bend, Ore., HPV’s presence is worldwide and it is only a click away.

Audio / Video Webcam | Keeping in Touch With My Loved Ones for Free

May 17th, 2011

I am a nomad.  I got it from my father.  And from my sister, and brother, and a large posse of travelers that I lovingly call friends.  Globe-trotting is our answer to a full, bold and happy life.  So, staying in touch is very important when we are off seeking adventure or simply enjoying a busy life at home in our city.

When I want to connect with the people I love, I mean business.  I estimate at least 14 social networks I participate in: Twitter, FaceBook, LinkedIn, ASmallWorld, and so on, chatting with people on different networks for various reasons…  Connections ranging from business, to personal, to the long-lost “I can’t believe they just found me” contacts.  I am heavily tuned in – almost too much – to cyberflow.  But there is no technology that feeds my need for face-time like my audio-video webcam (one of the smartest gifts I have ever received.)

When I moved across the country recently, my father couldn’t bare not meeting me for coffee… so we meet, every Saturday morning with a cup of Kona coffee in front of our webcams.  We are three thousand miles apart, but together every week… it’s brilliant.  Then the word spread to my dear brother, over the Atlantic in the City of Lights (France) missing his enchanting baby sister, her marvelous sense of humor, and what he adoringly refers to as my “American Teeth” (code for white.) We take a drink together every week (on a rotating schedule) – usually Pastis.  So now we all have webcams – this is how father watches his granddaughter in Zurich grow, his only son age, and his youngest blather on and on like the youngest usually does…  And that’s just my family!  All of my friends are hooked, sharing face time for free with their loved ones as far as Brazil and Egypt, enjoying real-time intonation with a side of “this is my face today.”

It is portable and functional: clipping right on to the top of my lap top.  It is fashionable and sleek: clear and black and shiny.  It is the ultimate tool for social networking; in fact, I am hatching a plan to start using it for virtual wine tastings.  It’s a low cost, useful tool that I both use and gift often.  Fab!
