About the Show: As a passionate world traveler and photographer, every photo has sentimental value to me. With tens of thousands of images acquired from decades of exploration and adventure, you can imagine that whittling a selection to less than 20 photos, was a true challenge.
…from the dervish’s artistic whirl in Turkey, to the chimp’s soulful gaze in Tanzania; the vibrant spun yarn of masterful Peruvian weavers’ to the weathered smile radiating from a Chilean gaucho—it may appear that my selection of photos seem to be chosen at random. But in choosing these photos, I let my emotions guide me… guiding me to choose the first in a series of the most memorable moments that I have captured during my worldly wanderings.
In Potter’s Daughter, I remember the very moment I saw the precious little Nepalese girl sitting on the step in the small town of Bhaktapur just outside of Kathmandu … her father not far away on the potter’s wheel forming the clay pots that surround her.
I remember realizing, in Shifty Shifter, that the stick-shift of the old Russian bus, was a scorpion ensconced in an amber ball—the driver’s face totally perplexed when I asked if I could take a photo….
The elder Mentor of the Hadzabe tribe in Tanzania—one of the last hunter-gatherer peoples of the world—always ensuring that the younger boys’ arrows were straight and true…
Or the feeling of Tokyo Rain, as a local woman stood in front of a passing bus as I photographed her—both of us drenched in heavily falling water…
This is a show derived of moments from my travels—following bliss around the world. Each photo has a real story. If you would like to know more of the story—the background behind the image—please contact me through my official website: FollowingBliss.com
